Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS offer special conditions for Air Berlin customers

The current transition phase following the suspension of Air Berlin's flight operations is an exceptional situation and a very difficult phase for Air Berlin customers. This is why Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS want to help stranded passengers of Air Berlin to fly home at a reduced price from other European countries.

The Lufthansa Group offer is valid for travellers:

• who had booked an Air Berlin return flight to/from Europe for the period between 28 October and 15 November 2017 and whose flight was cancelled
  
  
• whose Air Berlin Ticket (745/AB document) was issued before 15 August 2017
  
  
• who book an alternative return flight with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa or SWISS (OS/LH/LX flight number and operated by OS/LH/LX)

Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS will reimburse customers for half of the ticket price paid for these return flights. This pro-rata reimbursement will be made for all OS/LH/LX tickets submitted that meet the above-mentioned conditions, regardless of the booking channel via which they were purchased. Domestic flights within Germany are excluded.

After their return flight but no later than 15 December 2017, customers must submit the following for reimbursement to the Lufthansa Group Airlines directly:

• Booking confirmation and cancellation of the Air Berlin flight (with an Air Berlin ticket number) in the travel period from 28 October to 15 November 2017
  
  
• The used Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa or SWISS return flight ticket

Air Berlin customers are requested to send the documents for Lufthansa and SWISS flights to erstattungAB@dlh.de. For Austrian Airlines flights an online form is available. Please note that you will not be able to make the reimbursement directly at your travel agency.

We kindly ask for your understanding that the refund process can take several weeks due to the large number of passengers involved.

Eurowings also offers special conditions for passengers whose return flights are affected by the suspension of Air Berlin operations.
