Increase in check-in deadlines for Lufthansa intercontinental flights
Please inform your customers that from 19 July 2017 increased security screening will come into effect for all flights to the USA and that they should therefore expect longer waiting times at the airport. Small electronic devices may also now be subject to a security check, but can still be taken into the aircraft cabin.
As this additional security screening may lead to delays in procedures, Lufthansa is increasing the check-in deadlines* for all intercontinental flights at Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf airports with effect from 19 July
- First and Business Class passengers: 40 minutes before departure
- Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers: 60 minutes before departure
The check-in deadlines for intercontinental flights from Brussels, Cologne-Bonn, Geneva, Vienna and Zurich will not change, nor will the check-in times for continental flights.
The minimum connecting times at Lufthansa Group hubs will also remain unchanged for the present.
Passengers who have booked a long-haul flight are requested to arrive at the airport in good time. For USA flights from Zurich, SWISS recommends that its passengers are at the airport at least three hours before departure.
Check-in deadlines for the Lufthansa Group Airlines:
* By this time at the latest passengers who have already checked in online or via their mobile phones must be in possession of a boarding card and have checked in their baggage.
