Reopening of Brussels Airport

Brussels Airlines starts operating a limited number of flights from/to Brussels Airport as of Tuesday, 5 April 2016. Please check the GDS and brusselsairlines.com for further updates of this schedule.

Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS will also gradually start operating a limited number of flights from/to Brussels Airport from Tuesday, 5 April 2016 on:

  • Lufthansa will resume services to and from Brussels Zaventem Airport on Tuesday, 5 April. Until further notice, only a limited number of flights can be operated from/to Brussels – the remaining flights including the flights from/to Liège (LGG) will be cancelled.

  • SWISS will resume its services to and from Brussels at a reduced level from Wednesday, 6 April onwards.

  • Austrian Airlines will resume flight service to Brussels-Zaventem Airport starting on Thursday, 7 April

  • Eurowings is cancelling all flights to and from Brussels up until and including Monday, 11 April.

All schedule changes will be published in the CRS as soon as possible. The Lufthansa timetable from/to Brussels has already been published up until and including Thursday, 7 April. Please note that flight delays may occur.

All schedule changes and cancellations for the Lufthansa flights from/to Brussels up to and including 1 May 2016 have been published in the CRS.

The Lufthansa shuttle bus service between Frankfurt Airport and Brussels will continue to operate up to and including Wednesday, 6 April. The precise bus departure and arrival points and the departure times from Frankfurt and Brussels are published on LH.com.

Flights from and to Brussels are currently subject to a number of restrictions.

For flights from Brussels:

  • Recommended Check-in time for Schengen flights: 2 hours before departure

  • Recommended Check-in time for non- chengen flights: 3 hours before departure

  • Due to baggage handling restrictions check-in for all Lufthansa flights is only possible until 40 minutes prior to departure.

  • Passengers travelling from Brussels need to be in possession of a paper copy of either booking or boarding pass. Mobile boarding passes cannot be accepted.

  • Each passenger will be required to present a valid ID or passport.

  • All passengers are requested to come to the airport with valid bookings and correctly issued tickets for the flights.

  • All passengers are asked to limit hand luggage as well as any checked luggage, keep these as compact and light as possible.

  • Excess baggage payments are not possible

  • Brussels airport is currently only reachable by car or taxi; public transportation is not available.

  • All parking lots are accessible.

  • Only travellers have access to the temporary departure hall.

For flights to and from Brussels:

  • Unaccompanied minors (UMNR) and passengers travelling with pets (PETC, AVIH and SVAN) cannot be accommodated on the flights to and from Brussels until further notice. However, dogs accompanying blind passengers are accepted.
