Strike at Berlin-Tegel airport on 13 and on 14 March 2017

The ver.di trade union has announced a strike by the ground handling service provider at Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld airports on Monday, 13 March 2017 from 4 am to Wednesday, 15 March 2017 5 am. Lufthansa therefore has to cancel flights between Frankfurt and Berlin, and Munich and Berlin.

All passengers are requested to check the status of their flight before setting out on their journey. Lufthansa passengers who have saved their mobile phone number in their customer profile will be notified about relevant cancellations by text message.

Lufthansa rules for rebooking/reissue/refund for cancelled flights

Customers affected by a flight cancellation can rebook once free of charge or have their ticket refunded. You are welcome to make rebookings/reissues/refunds for cancelled Lufthansa flights yourself in accordance with the Lufthansa Standard INVOL rules. No approval/waiver from your Lufthansa Group Service Team is required.

Passengers travelling within Germany whose Lufthansa flights have been cancelled can use Deutsche Bahn trains and issue their own rail voucher either under ‘My Bookings’ on LH.com or at a Lufthansa airport check-in machine.
