Covid-19 tests for travelers to China available at FRA, VIE and ZRH – also for transit passengers
Do your customers want to travel to Mainland China? Please note that currently, travelers to Mainland China must present a negative PCR and IgM antibody test plus a Green HS Code (Chinese Citizens) or a Green HDC Code (Non-Chinese Citizens) prior to travel. Both Covid-19 tests must be taken at the point of origin and in transit to board the nonstop flight to China.*
PCR and IgM antibody testing facilities for travelers flying to Mainland China are now available at the Lufthansa Group hubs Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich – for both local and connecting Lufthansa Group passengers.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
Due to regulatory requirements and to guarantee smooth processing of the Covid-19 tests in the transit area (Terminal 1, Concourse Z near Gate Z12), only passengers from select origins (point of commencement) can currently travel with Lufthansa to Mainland China. All other passengers cannot be accepted on Lufthansa flights to China until further notice. Affected bookings have already been set to UN. Flights to Mainland China via Frankfurt must be booked in one ticket (OS/LH/LX/SN/EN ticket stock) and with a through fare. Please also note that the minimum connecting time in Frankfurt for Lufthansa flights to Nanjing (LH780), Shanghai (LH728) and Shenyang (LH720) has been increased to 8 hours.

* Passengers who begin their journey in Germany must perform the two tests either at their point of origin, e.g. in Hamburg, or when connecting in Frankfurt.
Zurich Airport (ZRH)
Effective immediately, travelers flying with SWISS from/via Zurich to Shanghai (LX188) can take the mandatory PCR tests and IgM antibody tests at Zurich Airport.
Flights to Mainland China via Zurich must be booked in one ticket (OS/LH/LX/SN/EN ticket stock) and with a through fare. Please also note that the minimum connecting time in Zurich for SWISS flights to Shanghai has been increased to 8 hours.
The test center is located in the SWISS Business Lounge D (Non-Schengen Departure Area), opening hours are Sundays 10:00-14:00.

Vienna Airport (VIE)
As of 8 January 2021, travelers flying with Austrian Airlines from/via Vienna to Shanghai (OS075) can take the mandatory PCR tests and IgM antibody tests at Vienna Airport.
Flights to Mainland China via Vienna must be booked in one ticket (OS/LH/LX/SN/EN ticket stock) and with a through fare. Please also note that the minimum connecting time in Vienna for Austrian Airlines flights to Shanghai has been increased to 9 hours.
The transit test center is located in the international transit area (Level 3 – G Gates | Service Center at Gate G11), opening hours are Fridays 11:00-13:30.
