Announced strike at Brussels Airlines from 23 March - 26 March 2024
The strike at Brussels Airlines announced on 18 March 2024 has been postponed. Negotiations with the union will continue.
The goodwill rule (TWP 2406) is therefore only valid until 20 March 2024. This means that transfers and refunds based on this goodwill rule must be made by 20 March 2024 at the latest.
The pilot unions have called on their members at Brussels Airlines to strike from 23 March to 26 March 2024.
Part 1 – Lufthansa Group rules for rebooking/reissue/refund for cancelled flights
Customers affected by a flight cancellation can rebook once free of charge or have their ticket refunded. You are welcome to make rebookings/reissues/refunds for cancelled flights on Austrian Airlines/Brussels Airlines/Lufthansa/SWISS tickets yourself in accordance with the Schedule Change/Irregularity Policy for Travel Agents (OS/SN/LH/LX).
Please note: The Schedule Change/Irregularity Policy only applies to flights which have already been cancelled or which have been automatically rebooked by the airline.
The Lufthansa Group airlines offer travelers booked on flights to and from Brussels extended options to rebook or have their tickets refunded free of charge (TWP 2406).
Part 2 – Goodwill policy (TWP 2406) for rebooking/reissue/refund of flights which are not cancelled
The TWP will be discontinued: last day of transaction permitted on 20 March 2024.
Passengers
• whose OS/SN/LH/LX/EN ticket (257/082/220/724/101) has been issued on/before 18 March 2024, and
• with an originally booked flight operated by SN from 23 to 26 March 2024 to/from Brussels, or
• with an originally booked flight operated by SN between Freetown (FNA) and Monrovia (ROB) from March 23-26, 2024,
may rebook once free of charge or have their ticket refunded on a voluntary basis free of charge.
Please note: This includes passengers who are holding connecting flights departing to/from Brussels from 23 to 26 March 2024 as above.
The following rules apply to rebookings:
• Rebooking on an alternative Lufthansa Group flight/connection (flight number and operated by: OS, SN, EW, LH, LX, EN, 4Y) – in the original booking class or, alternatively, in the originally ticketed compartment.
• Rebooking on flights operated by other airlines (OAL) – per original fare rule. Exception: AC/NH/UA-operated flights for new travel dates between 21 and 28 March 2024 may use any booking class in the originally ticketed compartment/cabin.
• New travel date on/after 18 March and on/before 5 April 2024
• Change of origin/destination is not permitted.
• In the case of reissues the endorsement entry must read: TWP2406
You can do the rebooking/reissue in accordance with this goodwill policy (TWP 2406) without having to request a waiver from your Lufthansa Group Agency Support.
The following rules apply to the refund:
• Entirely unused tickets can be refunded on a voluntary basis (provided all prerequisites as described above are fulfilled) – any cancellation/refund penalty is waived. This is also valid for non-refundable tickets. OPC and DCC (YR) remain non-refundable.
• Please enter the waiver code “TWP2406” in the refund transaction
• Amadeus: TRFU/WA TWP2406
• Sabre: After direct refund “WFR” entry, enter “TWP2406” in the waiver box
• Galileo/Travelport: Start direct refund via TRNE entry. Enter “TWP2406” in the waiver box (A/L authority)
• Infini: Enter “TWP2406” under Refunds “Reason Code”
• Axess: Enter “TWP2406” under “A/L Authority” in the refund template
• Farelogix/SPRK: Enter “TWP2406” in the Refund window “Waiver code box”
• Ancillary EMD’s (for example for ASR or baggage) associated with unused portion of the ticket, can be refunded together with the ticket. Please enter the waiver code “TWP2406” in the EMD refund transaction.
• You can do the refund of entirely unused tickets in accordance with this goodwill policy (TWP 2406) and entry of the waiver code without having to request a waiver from your Lufthansa Group Agency Support.
• For the refund of a partially used ticket, please contact your Lufthansa Group Agency Support.
