Important information: Removal of Lufthansa CityLine flights
The Lufthansa Group has removed the flight offer of Lufthansa CityLine (CL) from the flight program with immediate effect in order to reduce further losses of the loss‑making airline.
The removal of Lufthansa CityLine is a first immediately effective step within the accelerated capacity and fleet measures that the Lufthansa Group is implementing in response to increased kerosene costs and additional burdens caused by labor disputes.
Below, we have summarized the specific impact on the current summer flight schedule. Good to know: The Lufthansa Group is trying to have as many flights as possible operated by the airlines within the Lufthansa Group and by partner airlines.
Cancellation of Lufthansa CityLine flights through 23 April 2026:
Flight cancellations for departures through 23 April 2026 have already been processed and set to “UN” in the affected PNRs. You are welcome to make rebookings/reissues/refunds for flights that have already been cancelled or which have been automatically rebooked by the airline, in accordance with the SKCHG/INVOL Policy.
Lufthansa CityLine departures through 31 May 2026:
For departures between 24 April and 31 May 2026, the necessary flight cancellations and automated rebookings will be implemented in the booking systems today, Monday, 20 April 2026. For cancelled flights or flights which have been automatically rebooked by the airline, the SKCHG/INVOL Policy applies.
Lufthansa CityLine departures starting 1 June 2026:
Please do not proactively rebook Lufthansa CityLine flights on or after 1 June 2026. The Lufthansa Group is already working on a new continental summer flight schedule to continue offering as many connections and destinations as possible.
Temporary suspension of flights to/from Bydgoszcz, Rzeszów, Cork, and Stavanger
Lufthansa Group has suspended the following flight routes through 31 May 2026:
- Frankfurt (FRA)–Bydgoszcz (BZG)–Frankfurt (FRA)
- Frankfurt (FRA)–Rzeszów (RZE)–Frankfurt (FRA)
- Frankfurt (FRA)–Cork (ORK)–Frankfurt (FRA)
- Frankfurt (FRA)–Stavanger (SVG)–Frankfurt (FRA)
Wherever possible, affected passengers have already been rebooked to nearby alternative departure or arrival airports.
- If your customers agree with the alternative flight option:
Please reissue already ticketed bookings on an involuntary basis. - If your customers do not agree with the alternative flight option:
Please contact your Lufthansa Group Agency Support team. They will be happy to check whether a rebooking option is available to connecting flights operated by other airlines (OAL) to the original origin or destination is available.
You are welcome to make rebookings/reissues/refunds for flights that have already been cancelled or which have been automatically rebooked by the airline, in accordance with the SKCHG/INVOL Policy.
We understand that these capacity and fleet adjustments will require additional effort on your part. We are working hard to minimize the impact as much as possible.
