Lufthansa to publish additional flight cancellations for October 2022 and 2022/2023 winter schedule

In order to be able to offer a reliable and plannable flight schedule for passengers, Lufthansa is cancelling flights for the travel period from 30 October 2022 to 25 March 2023. The adjustments mainly affect domestic German and intra-European flights for which there were predominantly alternative transport options - for example, other flights or rail, but also some long-haul connections from Munich and Frankfurt. Here, single frequencies in particular are being cancelled, to destinations that were scheduled several times a week.

In addition, the Lufthansa flight schedule for October 2022 has to be adapted to the current conditions. This also results in flight cancellations and time changes.

With these measures Lufthansa aims at easing pressure on the system in the coming months and over the winter, as well as making the flight schedule reliable for its guests in the long term.

Flight cancellations and rebooking options

The flight cancellations will be gradually implemented in the booking systems starting 17 August 2022 and will appear in your queue.

  • Passengers affected by flight cancellations will be rebooked automatically wherever possible

  • In the case of transfer connections, manual rebooking of feeder and de-feeder flights may be required

  • You may make changes to the automated rebookingsas well as refunds yourself, within the framework of the SKCHG/INVOL Policy

Simplified rules for INVOL reissues – through 31 August 2022

In order to facilitate your handling and to increase the availability of our Agency Support Teams again, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group have temporarily – up to and including 31 August 2022 (date of reissue) – simplified the rules for reissues on involuntary basis. Please process these on your own without contacting the Lufthansa Group Agency Support. No waiver is required, no ADMs will be issued in these cases.
