Massive impact of ver.di strike on Lufthansa flight operations on 27 July 2022
The warning strike announced by trade union ver.di will have a massive operational impact in the middle of the peak travel season. Lufthansa will cancel almost the entire flight program at the Frankfurt and Munich hubs on Wednesday, 27 July 2022. Please note that selected long-haul flights departing today, Tuesday, and originally scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt or Munich on tomorrow, Wednesday, have already been canceled too. Other Lufthansa Group airlines flights are also affected by flight cancellations.
Looking ahead to the coming weekend, Lufthansa is doing its utmost to return flight operations to normal as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, the effects of the strike may still lead to individual flight cancellations or delays on Thursday and Friday.
The flight cancellations are being implemented today, Tuesday, 26 July 2022. Passengers affected by cancellations will be informed immediately today (provided the contact details are stored in the booking) and rebooked on alternative flights if possible. However, the capacities available for rebookings are very limited.
Travelers are asked to check the status of their flight before setting out on their journey.
