Over 60 destinations: Austrian Airlines publishes flight schedule through October 2020

Summer is in the air! Currently your customers can already reach over 50 destinations worldwide with Austrian Airlines. Today the remaining Austrian Airlines summer flight schedule will be published in the booking systems. The timetable is valid until 24 October 2020 and includes the resumption of further routes and an increase in capacity on almost all existing routes.

Update from 16 July 2020:

Due to new landing bans ordered by the Austrian Ministry of Health, Austrian Airlines is forced to cancel all flights between Vienna and the following destinations during the period 16-31 July 2020: Belgrade, Bucharest, Cairo, Kyiv, London, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Sibiu, Skopje, Sofia, Stockholm, Tirana and Varna. The landing bans will also have an impact on the remaining route network of Austrian Airlines, due to the fact that the affected routes are frequented by many transfer passengers. These passengers will be missing, for example on flights to the USA. As a consequence, the flights between Vienna and Chicago have been cancelled throughout July.

Starting in August 2020, Austrian Airlines will be flying from Vienna to Shanghai again – initially once a week. From September 2020 onwards, the flight offer will be expanded to include further European destinations: Chişinău, Dnipro, Iaşi, Klagenfurt, Leipzig, Lviv, Lyon, Nuremberg, Odessa and Yerevan.*

By the end of October 2020, Austria's home carrier will double its flight offer to almost 40 percent compared to the previous year's schedule – and thus offer more than 60 destinations.

Flight cancellations and rebooking options

With the publication of the new Austrian Airlines summer flight schedule necessary flight cancellations for the period of 28 July to 24 October 2020 will also be made. The flight cancellations will be gradually implemented in the booking systems and will appear in your queue.

Customers affected by flight cancellations are rebooked automatically as far as possible. You can make any changes to the automated rebookings according to the Flight Irregularities Policy (OS/LH/LX). Alternatively, you can make a rebooking free of charge for passengers who wish to change their routing based on the goodwill rules.

Reconfirmation for bookings affected by flight cancellations

Austrian Airlines will request a confirmation from all passengers affected by flight cancellations to determine if they wish to use the new and/or remaining flights as booked. In doing so, an SSR element will be entered into all PNRs in which at least one flight segment is cancelled and/or automatically rebooked.
