Reduced catering on Lufthansa flights from 19 to 21 December 2019

The Verdi union called on LSG Sky Chefs employees to strike on Thursday, 19 December 2019. Regrettably, therefore, on Thursday, 19 December and on Friday, 20 December 2019, we will be unable to offer any meals or beverages on German domestic and European flights. There will also be some restrictions on Saturday, 21 December 2019.

  • No meals and beverages will be offered on domestic and European flights to and from Frankfurt and Munich.

  • On long-haul flights from Frankfurt and Munich, a reduced catering will be provided. On board, Lufthansa will offer food boxes with water, snacks, chips, yoghurt and dry noodles that can be prepared with hot water.

  • On long-haul flights to Frankfurt and Munich the normal selection of drinks and meals will be offered.

Lufthansa apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Customers transfering in Frankfurt and Munich or commencing their journey will be provided with free drinks and snacks in the transit and departure area. In the departure area in Frankfurt, these can be found near Gates A12, A22, A50, B30 and Z12. In Munich, these stations are located both in Terminal 2 and in the Satellite Terminal in the Schengen and non-Schengen areas.

In addition, Lufthansa will reimburse reasonable costs after presentation of the receipts if travellers provide themselves with drinks or food. Passengers affected by limited catering can submit their receipts for reimbursement at lufthansa.com/feedback or by sending an e-mail to customer.relations@lufthansa.com.
