Strike by the trade union ver.di at German airports on 26 March and 27 March 2023

The trade union ver.di has called for a strike at several German airports on Sunday, 26 March and Monday, 27 March 2023. This will bring flight operations to a virtual standstill.

  • Frankfurt (FRA): Suspension of regular flight operations on 27 March 2023

  • Munich (MUC): Suspension of regular flight operations on 26 March and 27 March 2023

Disruptions to flight operations at other German airports and Lufthansa Group airlines flight cancellations are to be expected.

The necessary flight cancellations have already been implemented. Please note that no (immediate) UN have been set in the PNR. In this case, you can do the rebooking/reissue/refund without having to request a waiver.

Lufthansa expects regular flight operations to be largely back to normal as early as Tuesday, 28 March 2023.

Passengers affected by flight cancellations have already been informed (provided the contact details were stored in the booking) and will be rebooked on alternative flights if possible. However, the capacities available for this are very limited. Due to the large number of cancellations and reduced rebooking options, we may not be able to offer solutions for all passengers.

We ask passengers to check the status of their flight before setting out on their journey.
