Temporary flight schedule adjustments to/from Buenos Aires (25 October–11 November 2026)

Due to construction work on the runway at Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport (EZE), the Lufthansa Group airlines will face operational restrictions on flights to and from Buenos Aires starting Sunday, 25 October, through Wednesday, 11 November 2026.

The measures primarily affect Lufthansa flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Buenos Aires (BUE), which will be cancelled during this period.

The necessary flight cancellations and automated rebookings will be implemented in the booking systems on 9 July 2026. Affected passengers will be rebooked primarily on alternative itineraries via Rome Fiumicino (FCO), with onward connections to and from Buenos Aires operated by ITA Airways.

If your customers agree with the alternative flight option:

  • Please reissue already ticketed bookings on an involuntary basis.

If your customers do not agree with the alternative flight option:

  • Please contact your Lufthansa Group Agency Support team.

On selected days, affected passengers will be rebooked via Rio de Janeiro (GIG). For the booking of onward flights to or from Buenos Aires, please contact your Lufthansa Group Agency Support team.

Lufthansa Group rules for rebooking/reissue/refund for cancelled flights

Customers affected by a flight cancellation can rebook once free of charge or have their ticket refunded. Rebookings, reissues and refunds for cancelled flights on Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS tickets may be processed in accordance with the SKCHG/INVOL Policy.

SWISS has also adjusted its flight schedule for the construction period. Flights between Zurich (ZRH) and Buenos Aires (BUE) have been temporarily suspended. During this period, SWISS is operating flights exclusively between Zurich and São Paulo (GRU). Connections between Brazil and Argentina are provided by partner airlines. These schedule changes were implemented several weeks ago and are already in effect.
