To the USA once again! What you need to know about entry

The USA is once again welcoming international travelers. For all those who want to rediscover America's dream cities, relax on the sunny beaches of Florida or California, or deepen business relationships, we have summarized the most important details about entry into the USA.

Travelers

  • who are fully vaccinated with an FDA approved or authorized, or a World Health Organization (WHO) emergency use listed vaccine (Janssen/J&J, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, BIBP/Sinopharm and Sinovac), and

  • who present a negative Covid-19 test (PCR, antigen or verified self-test) taken no more than 1 days before the flight’s departure from a foreign country (effective 6 December 2021)

will be allowed to enter the USA without restrictions.

The following applies:

  • A person is considered fully vaccinated if they have received both doses of an approved vaccine at least 14 days prior to scheduled entry. Exception: For Janssen/J&J, a single vaccine dose is sufficient

  • A combination of two different vaccines (mix-and-match vaccine primary series) is also accepted

  • Exceptions to the vaccination requirement include U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents and children under 18

  • Children between the ages of 2 and 17 traveling with a vaccinated adult are required to show proof of a negative viral test from a sample taken within one day before departure

  • If an unvaccinated child is traveling alone (UMNR), they will have to show proof of a negative test from a sample taken within one day of departure

  • Children under the age of 2 are exempt from the testing requirement
